The original was built in 1927 in Cincinnati, USA.
It served at the Rotterdam Fire department from 1927 till 1972.
In total, there were 7 of these trucks in Rotterdam, nowerdays only 3 of them are left in the Netherlands. One of them resides in Hellevoetsluis
The model is built at a 1:6.66 scale.
This was done because of the available tire sizes.
The model is fully functional with a 6 cylinder engine, a gearbox (3 forward gears and 1 reverse), a stiff axle ,a differential, and a 4 cylinder hose pump with 2 by 2 selectable cylinders.
The pressure gauges and coolant thermometer are also home-made
The engine is a four stroke, water-cooled, and has 6 non-coupled cylinders with sidevalves (just like the original one).
Because of the fact that sidevalve engines aren’t really reliable, another engine has to be designed and built.
